Experience New Life in Christ through Baptism
Baptism is the first of the three sacraments of initiation, alongside Confirmation and the Eucharist. It is through Baptism that we are freed from original sin and reborn as children of God. In Baptism, we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church, and made sharers in its mission.
Steps to Prepare for Baptism
- Contact the parish office to schedule a date for the sacrament.
- Attend a Baptism preparation class if required.
- Choose godparents who will support your faith journey.
- Complete the necessary paperwork and forms from the parish office.
Symbols of Baptism
Baptism is rich in symbolism that reflects our new life in Christ. The symbols include:
- Water: Signifying the cleansing of sin and rebirth.
- Oil: Represents being anointed with the Holy Spirit.
- Candle: Symbolizes the light of Christ guiding us.
- White Garment: Represents purity and newness of life.
At St. Cyprian Kawanda Parish, we celebrate Baptism throughout the year. Please contact us for more information and to schedule your Baptism.
